Chinese Brown Stir-Fry Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 150ml chicken stock or water
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Optional:
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- White pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and stock.
- Add the cornflour and stir until fully dissolved.
- Mix in the sesame oil.
Cooking
- Heat a wok or frying pan with a little oil.
- Stir-fry your meat or vegetables until nearly cooked.
- Add garlic and ginger if using and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the sauce mixture.
- Stir constantly as the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients.
Notes
- Dark soy sauce adds colour and richness.
- Works well with beef, chicken, prawns, broccoli, mushrooms, or mixed vegetables.
- Serve with Perfect Steamed Rice.
