# Perfect Steamed Rice (No Rice Cooker) ## Ingredients - 1 cup long grain rice - 2 cups water - Pinch of salt (optional) ## Instructions 1. Place the **rice in a sieve** and rinse under cold water until the water runs mostly clear. 2. Add the rice and **2 cups of water** to a saucepan. 3. Add a small **pinch of salt** if desired. 4. Bring the pan to a **gentle boil**. ## Cooking 5. Once boiling, reduce heat to **low**. 6. Cover the pan with a **lid**. 7. Simmer for **10–12 minutes** until the water is absorbed. ## Resting 8. Turn off the heat and **leave the lid on for 5 minutes**. 9.
