NAT Checks for Network Reachability

NAT can change the address and port behavior seen by a destination. Before changing application settings, use a small, repeatable test to understand the network path.

A practical sequence

1. Record the client network and test time.
2. Compare the observed public address with the local context.
3. Test the destination port from the same environment.
4. Repeat from another connection if results differ.
